H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre is an impressive venue right in the centre of Woking, Surrey. We offer a choice of wonderful spaces that can be themed or decorated as you wish to create the perfect private party of any description.
Birthday parties; Christmas parties; engagement parties; wedding parties and breakfasts; anniversary parties; christening parties and naming ceremonies or wakes – with over 25 years' experience, our events team have hosted every kind of celebration imaginable.
Our flexible spaces are ideal for private events of all sizes, from relatively small get-togethers such as 'wetting the baby's head' or retirement parties, to great big affairs like school proms and reunions or end-of-season sports club parties.
All rooms are hired exclusively for you and your guests, and can be themed any way you wish. Please note, our rooms are for exclusive use only and minimum numbers apply.
The Wells Room is a spectacular space with high ceilings, stage, dance floor, bar, stunning lighting effects and plenty of room for up to 250 for a sit-down dinner or up to 800 people for a less formal party.
The Kemp Room is a stylish party space with its own bar and room for up to 180 people to enjoy a buffet, or up to 120 for a sit-down dinner.
The Griffin Room has a cosy, lounge bar feel and is perfect for buffets for up to 150 people, or 70 for a sit-down dinner. It can also be used for pre-dinner drinks if you are using the Wells Room as your main party space.
Our experienced, in-house catering team offer a great range of party menus; from finger buffets and canapés to three-course dinners; with options to suit all tastes and dietary requirements.
Wherever possible, we use locally sourced, seasonal produce from carefully selected suppliers. Our chefs are passionate about serving up delicious menus and can advise on food and wine matching. If you have any special requests, just talk to your Event Manager – we'll always do our best to help.
