On Saturday 9th June, Surrey & Sussex Police held their Awards Ceremony to recognise and award staff and officers for going above and beyond their duties. 

H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre was the ideal choice for their event as we can provide the perfect glamorous and functional setting in our Wells Room, which comfortably accommodated their 180 guests.  In fact we can seat up to 300 people for a dinner, or 250 people with a stage. The Wells Room has an integral PA system, including microphones, lecterns, projectors and screens and a lighting rig.  The wall screens were used for their presentations and logos, and the stage was washed with lighting and the lectern lit. 

Our adjacent Griffin Room was also used for reception drinks, and set up in an informal arrangement with atmospheric blue LED lighting and background music.  Colleagues could mingle and relax before the food was served in the Wells Room.  A mouth watering hot & cold finger buffet was set out along tables at the back of the Wells Room with a selection of savory tartlettes, individual Yorkshire puddings with roast beef & horseradish and a wide selection of sandwich fillings.  There was also a choice of vegetarian options including delicious filo cups with roasted vegetables, feta cheese & olives and mini vegetarian pizzas. We also catered for several vegans and dietary requirements of nut and gluten free choices.  The dessert option was skewered fresh fruit and Banoffee tartlettes.   

All catering was prepared freshly on site by our in-house team of chefs; Tremblay’s.  Our Executive Head Chef, Steve Tremblay, has a huge amount of experience in banqueting.  He has an international career working in 5 star hotels around the world, and has worked alongside Gordon Ramsey, Michael Wignall and even as a private chef for Simon Cowell and personal nutritionist to Lewis Hamilton, whilst based at McLaren. 

The Awards evening ran like clockwork and the organisers were delighted with the venue, catering and efficient service.  From the initial booking everything ran smoothly and seamlessly.
