At H G Wells Conference & Events centre we are not just about corporate events, the following is an example of a festival that was available for the public to attend and enjoy.
On Saturday 22nd September, Mega Events held a Rum & Reggae Festival at H G Wells Conference & Events Centre. The festival was split into a day and a night party, with 600 guests attending both sessions.
H.G. Wells has the capacity and experience to put on amazing events such as this. Also, based in the heart of Woking, it is the perfect location for people travelling by car or train. Car parking opposite the venue is accessed by a covered link bridge, and visitors arriving by train have a short stroll from the station.
On arrival the ticket holders were greeted at our purpose built reception desk and information was displayed on the plasma screens throughout the venue to assist delegates. Each entrant was given a Rum Atlas, detailing the fine selection of rums available, and a Welcome Rum Punch. They walked through the Griffin Room, passed merchandise stalls and directly into the Wells where they could enjoy live entertainment, sample delicious foods and taste rare and special craft rums from all corners of the globe.
At 472m² the Wells Room was the ideal space to enjoy the carnival dancers, steel drum performers and sample foods from the traditional Caribbean food stalls. The full lighting rig, state-of-the-art AV and PA Systems was available for the bands playing the smoothest selection of Reggae music in the UK, Reggae MC's and DJ's.
The organisers had easy access to the venue via the Goods Entrance with a goods lift to conveniently bring all equipment up from street level.
The Wells Room’s versatile and modern space was transformed from a blank canvas into the authentic atmosphere of Jamaica with stalls offering traditional Jamaican food, and rare and special craft rums to sample and purchase.
