Woking Borough Council and H G Wells Conference & Events Centre are delighted to support Pride in Surrey.

A VIP Pride in Surrey launch party was held at H G Wells on Friday 1st February 2019.   Our modern Griffin Room was the perfect space for the 150 guests, it is carpeted throughout with a warm décor and is complete with a fully stocked bar and a built in PA system.

Guests arrived at 7pm for reception drinks provided by Pride’s sponsor Barefoot Wines.    A mouthwatering party buffet was then served; with a popular selection of  Lamb Kofta, Pizza, Chicken Satay Skewers, Tartlets and Spring Rolls, all freshly cooked by our team of in house chefs.  Gluten free options were also prepared for guests.

A stage was set up to for the speaker and entertainers and a lectern, microphones and screen available.  The event saw performances from Miss Drag UK Finalist; Rosè Zinfandel, Acoustic phenomenon; Ashleigh Hennessy, Comedy Genius; Emily Baum and an incredible premiere of a short film: “My Baby”, which beautifully captures a mother’s journey with her trans son. If the evening couldn’t get any better Divas Entertainments topped off the night with back to back music for guests to dance the night away.

In addition, Pride in Surrey announced their main event sponsor BAE Systems and subsidiary sponsors whilst thanking Woking Borough Council and HG Wells for their continued support.

Launching a social sharing app which can be found at: Share.prideinsurrey.org it was a fantastic evening and whilst it was snowing and blowing a gale outside the spirits were high in the presence of Woking’s right honourable Mayor, Will Forster and various councillors and influential people from across Surrey.
