Woking District Rotary Prestige Lecture “Bloodhound” The Mission to Break the Land Speed Record

Woking District Rotary Club is hosting an evening for anyone interested in cars and speed.

The evening promises to be very entertaining and informative with a presentation and book signing by Richard Noble, OBE, Project Director and former holder of the World Land Speed Record.

Richard and his team have held the World Land Speed Record for over 34 years with the two Thrust programmes. Thrust 2, driven by Richard, brought the World Land Speed Record back to Britain in 1983 and Thrust SSC was the first ever supersonic car, and currently holds the record.

Against a background of today’s low risk culture, Richard Noble specialises in developing high risk ventures. Of these, the Thrust 2 and Thrust SSC programmes are the best known.

Richard is a great communicator who is able to share how he set about this unique achievement with audiences from all sorts of backgrounds and all ages. His drive, determination and passion are guaranteed to inspire and enthuse any audience.

Doors and bar opens at 7pm and the event starts at 8pm.

Tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for students (under 18).  Please call our box office Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm on 01483 712710.

All proceeds go to local charities, including disadvantaged children, the disabled, people with learning issues, adults and teenage homeless, those in abusive relationships, people struggling with running their affairs and many others
