H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre provides the perfect setting for glamorous award ceremonies and award dinners. We have a choice of rooms and can provide all the event management and assistance you need to create a truly memorable occasion. With integral PA Systems and lighting, in-house catering, on-site security and a friendly team with years of experience, H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre is the obvious choice for award spectaculars of any shape or size.

Creating the ultimate awards ceremony or awards dinner is all about teamwork. When you choose H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre, we'll work with you to design and manage your event, right down to the last detail. Your dedicated Event Manager, Event Assistant and catering team are here to make sure everything goes smoothly and seamlessly. Leaving you to sit back, relax and enjoy a fantastic event.
The Wells Room is ideal for larger events, with the capacity to comfortably accommodate an audience of up to 600 in a traditional theatre-style seating layout or an award dinner of up to 250.
The Wells Room can be themed and comes with full lighting rig to create an extra-special atmosphere, transforming your event into 'an event to remember'. Special effects and all AV requirements are available, including haze machines; wall screens; on-stage screens and an integral PA System. The room also has its own bar and there are changing rooms at the rear of the stage. The Griffin Room can also be hired in conjunction with the Wells Room for welcome or interval drinks, with room for up to 200 people. Warm and inviting, the Griffin Room has its own PA system, bar and even a baby grand piano.

For more intimate award dinners and ceremonies, H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre has another equally elegant option.
The Kemp Room is a contemporary space that is ideal for audiences of up to 150 people seated theatre-style, or award dinners of up to 90 people. As with the Wells Room, the Kemp Room can be dressed and transformed, with integrated lighting and effects.
The Kemp Room features a full PA System and on-stage screen. There is a bar for your guests and changing rooms are conveniently located close-by.

Our experienced, in-house catering team offer an inspiring range of menus; from finger buffets and canapés to three-course dinners; with options to suit all tastes and dietary requirements.
Wherever possible, we use locally sourced, seasonal produce from carefully selected suppliers. Our chefs are passionate about delivering delicious and stylish dining and can advise on food and wine matching. If you have any special requests, just talk to your Event Manager – we'll always do our best to help.
