H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre is an impressive and versatile setting in the heart of Woking; perfect for business events and ideally equipped for your conference. We offer contemporary spaces for every possible kind of event, from intimate meetings to state-of-the-art conferences. We can comfortably accommodate up to 600 delegates, with impressive theatre-style seating arrangements, networking spaces and breakout rooms.
Whatever your needs, we have the equipment and facilities to make your conference a huge success. We have comprehensive sound and conference display systems, on-stage and front-of-stage lighting and an in-house technician, should you need them.
Our talented chefs offer the very best in-house catering, with a delicious range of meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options. Choose from extensive menus including breakfasts, canapés, three-course dinners and buffets.
H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre is located in the centre of Woking, with covered parking and accommodation available for your delegates just a couple of minutes’ walk away.
The Wells Room is ideal for large conferences, with space for up to 200 people cabaret style or 600 theatre style. For smaller conferences, breakout workshops or team building activities, we have several spaces that can accommodate anywhere between 8 and 96 people.
Kemp Room – up to 96 (usual layout, 12 tables of 8)
Ogilvy Room – breakout space for up to 60
Elphinstone Room – breakout space for up to 20
Henderson Room – breakout space for up to 20
Griffin Room – ideal for welcome drinks and refreshments including buffet lunches

A welcome desk can be provided in reception for delegate registration. Refreshments can be served on arrival, either in your main meeting room or in the Griffin Room.
Audio Visual Equipment
The Wells Room has a large and extensive in-house AV provision including a central main screen for presentations and smaller side screens. There are also four projection screens to enable a clear view of conference content anywhere in the room. Lectern, lapel and handheld microphones are available, depending on speaker preference.

Day delegate packages are available with a range of catering options including sandwiches, finger buffets, drinks and canapés. Should you wish, our in-house catering team would be delighted to design a bespoke menu for you and all dietary requirements can be catered for.
Food can be served in any of the rooms whilst bars are located in the Wells, Griffin and Kemp Rooms. These can be organised on a cash or account basis.
